Enclose Porch, Remove structural support columes between Den and Kitchen. Install 20 foot steel beam in place of removed support columes. Update Kitchen and lighting.
This project involves enclosing the existing porch in order to enlarge the den living space. This page will be updated as the porject moves forward.
Open the space between the newly enlarged den and kitchen by removing the existing structural support columes (encased in the bookshelves in the background and foreground of these two photos) and replace them with a 21 foot long steel I- Beam, which will be become the new support for the rear of the house.
The existing exterior den wall is removed and the new exterior wall is up. Windows will follow.
